Week 1 MTC - Elder Bednar

Last night Elder Bednar came for the devotional at the MTC. It was amazing. I guess he was also here on Christmas day, and for the devotional he passed out 200 cell phones and had the missionaries send questions to his ipad. Last night he picked some more questions to respond to. Someone asked him to bear his testimony on The Book of Mormon and I loved everything said.

He said-

"I give someone 100 years and would not be able to produce even one page of The Book of Mormon. I would give him all the tools he needed a team as large as he wanted and he would not be able to do it. The human mind cant even begin to conceive it. I have held the original manuscript of the book of mormon in my hand. There is not one word crossed out, not on punctuation mark fixed, not one verse deleted or moved. When was the last time you wrote a book over 600 pages without one single error. For thousands of years the most learned people have been discussing is it faith or works that gets us to heaven and a young man was able to answer the question with just a 2nd grade education? No it was inspired by the Lord. If you take a board of wood and nail it to something with just one single nail you can twist it in a full circle. The single nail is like just having The Bible and thats why there are so many different churches because everyone twists it there own way. We need two nail or even 3 in the board for it to not be moved. one for The Bible and one for The Book of Mormon and even a third for The Doctrine and Covenants. The elegant symbolism of the seed and tree flowing all through out the Book of Mormon could not simply be placed there or thought up by someone with a second grade education"

I just loved that. I mean its not word for word- more of a paraphrase but its pretty close. I wish I could tell you more about all the amazing experiences I have been having but I dont have time! If you write me it is way easier for me to respond. 

I know that The Book of Mormon is the word of God and is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that the Saviors atonement is real and it can heal us from everything if we only come to him. The only thing the prodigal son had to do to be received by his father is come back, and he rejoiced. I know that when I pray my Heavenly Father is listening and I know he answers my prayers. I know that I lived with Him before I came to this earth and that He is the father of my spirit. I know He loves me beyond measure. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
