Despite living in Fllorida for Christmas- this year I had a white christmas! Claribel got baptized! She wore all white to church :) it was the cutest thing ever! She had her baptismal interview and came out in tears, she had felt the spirit so strong. She kept saying God loves me. I know God loves me. She truly had felt the joy of repentance and that she was going to be clean. I have never seen anyone so excited to be baptized, or truly understand what it meant. She is amazing :)
Christmas was different as amissionary but I was so grateful to be able to see and talk to my family. Mom- I missed your face :(
Anyways for Latins Christmas eve is the big holiday, they party here like crazy! I saw a man getting out of his car with a half drunken beer in his hand. He was literally drinking AND driving! Christmas was a normal day except we got to talk to our family and we were allowed to go to members houses to eat past 5pm. We had two meal appointments one RIGTH after the other, and they fed us the exact same thing. WE were dying! But we are so grateful for our members, they worked so hard to make it a special day for us. At one of the houses the wife put a Santa hat on her husband and had him hand us gifts. He was being so funny about it, I was dying of laughter, and plus they cant even pronounce Santa Clause. I loved them! Its still Christmas here in Florida the lights still on and the trees still up and we even sang Christmas hymns at church!...I mean I love Christmas but there are only so many Christmas hymns in Spanish.
On Christmas during personal study I studied in Luke 2 about Christs birth as well about His birth in 'Jesus the Christ.' I was so overwhelmed with the spirit and my heart was so full. I know that Jesus Christ lives, and that He is the greatest gift from our Father in Heaven.
Today we are going to the everglades for Sister Alcazars birthday! woot woot. That's all for now. My hands are tired.
I have pics to send but this comp is not letting me send them!! I will do it next week!
This year for 2015 I challenge you to have 15 (different) nonmember friends or less actives at church with you! I will do it too for the last 6 months. I will do 7! Lets hasten the work!
Sending LOTS of love.
