July 8th--Transfer Call

What a week! On fourth of July I saw more Colombian flags (world cup) then American flags, but we did get to see some awesome fireworks from our porch! We had to be in at 7:30 that night.

Last night was crazy. We get on the zone call for transfers. 'Sister Koutz- stay, Sister Mckay- Transfer'
I was like ok I am content. I can spend half the mission in Fountainebleau. Then we get a call this morning and I am actually transferring too! There was typo. its really bittersweet for me. I love this ward.

President Richardson and his wife are here, and they are great! the culture of the mission is still very much the same: We are the BEST and most EXACTLY obedient mission in the world :)

Speaking of obedience, I spend this week feasting upon the words of our modern day Prophet and apostles, and have learned so much of the importance of obedience:

"Spiritually mature obedience is 'the Saviors obedience.' it is motivated by true love for Heavenly Father and His son. When we willingly obey as the Savior did, we cherish the words of our Heavenly Father: 'This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.' And we look forwards to hearing, upon our Heavenly Fathers presence, 'well done, thou good and faithful servant:..enter into the joy of the Lord.'...To rationalize disobedience does not change spiritual law or its consequences but leads to confusion, instability, wandering in strange paths, being lost, and grief. As disciples of Christ we have a sacred obligation to uphold His laws and commandments and the covenants which we take upon ourselves." (If Ye Love Me, Keep My Commandments. Elder Robert D. Hales)

And as we are obedient to making and keeping sacred covenants we receive the fullness of the blessing of the atonement. (Bear Up Their Burdens with Ease. Elder David A. Bednar)

This Sunday I was able to have a beautiful experience with the atonement, as I fasted for patience. I was losing my patience with the area, and my companion, and I realize it all had to do with the fact that I had been here so long, but as I fasted and prayed the Lord softened my heart. He took a huge weight off my shoulders, He gave me a new energy and strength. I am ever so grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ.

Love ALWAYS,
Sister Koutz
